Our review
Runway is a generative media platform for creating video, images and audio from prompts, with its own Gen-4.5 models alongside third-party models listed on its pricing page. The free plan includes a one-time deposit of 125 credits, and Standard costs $15 per month billed monthly or $12 per month billed annually, with 625 credits a month. Pro and Max add more credits and unlimited Topaz upscaling. For freelancers it is useful for concept shots, b-roll and pitch visuals that would be costly to film. Credits go quickly on video, monthly credits do not roll over on Standard or Pro, and you should check usage rights before delivering generated footage to clients. Descript and Synthesia suit editing and avatar videos better.
