Canva review for freelancers
Browser-based design platform with templates and AI image and design tools.
Our review
Canva is an easy drag-and-drop design tool with a large template library and a growing set of AI features. It is a practical option for freelancers who need quick social posts, pitch decks and client documents. A free plan exists and Pro adds brand and productivity features. Highly custom or print-critical design work is still better in dedicated pro tools, and templates can make output look generic.
Pros
- Large template library
- Free plan to start
- Easy for non-designers
Cons
- Output can look templated
- Not a replacement for pro design software
- AI features differ by plan
